Kawaii trend

The Japanese word kawaii began to be used in a common way in the 80s and refers to something that is sweet and tender, and although it was originally used to describe a baby or an animal, today it has been extended to any type of things. Worldwide this term has had its greatest representation within the otaku culture that encompasses people who have in common a love for manga, anime, video games and musical idols. In Western culture it is restricted to a personal lifestyle or fashion, while in Japan it affects all areas including the public or state.
